Easy Fall Decor For 6 Dollars

September 19, 2013 by Carrie

Easy 6 Dollar Fall Decor

One of the simplest and most beautiful ways to decorate is to use your own photos.  Decorating in the fall is so fun since nature provides such warm beautiful colors to photograph.

chalkboard hung up

Today I updated some of the decor in my guest bathroom for less than 6 dollars!

All you need is a camera, some pretty fall leaves, and a place to hang pictures.

First I gathered some colorful leaves and arranged them on a table outside.  I try to take as many pictures as I can outside since the lighting is so good.

I took some close up pictures of the leaves in different arrangements.  I tried to focus on the leaves that were the most colorful.

Take pictures of beautiful fall leaves to use for your fall decor

Next I uploaded them to my local drug store and had them printed out in sizes to fit the frames I already had.  My drug store usually runs sales on photo printing pretty often so I was able to use a 40% off coupon.

Thanks to the coupon, the total cost for this project was $5.39!

Here’s the results!

Use photos for fall decorating

I love the warmth and personality these photos add to the bathroom.

Fall decor

You can take pictures for every season and update them as the year goes on.  Here’s what I display for Spring and Fall:

I hope this inspires you to take pictures of what you think is beautiful about fall and display the results proudly in your own home!

These are lovely! So simple, but colorful and beautiful. I have been reading up on ways to preserve leaves, but they all sound so involved and more work than it’s worth…but taking photos is a great alternative! I will have to try it!

    • Carrie says

      September 27, 2013 at 5:48 pm

I agree! I would much rather take photos of leaves than preserving them! I hope you enjoy this project as much as I did.
