Frugal Crafty Home Blog Hop 51

November 24, 2013 by Carrie

I have to admit something that may not be too popular among my blogger friends but I’ll say it anyway.

I’m NOT ready for Christmas yet!  There.  I said it.

I hate seeing Christmas stuff up before Thanksgiving.  Especially in store displays.

Every store in the world seems to have Christmas trees up, Christmas music playing, and jingle bells everywhere.  That’s wonderful but what happened to Thanksgiving?

Don’t go on thinking I’m  a Scrooge.  I LOVE Christmas.  I just want to celebrate Thanksgiving first.

Okay.  Rant is now over!

Time To Party!

Frugal Crafty Home Blog Hop has five hosts–which means 5 times the exposure for your posts!  Your posts will show up on my blog as well as Jordan from Lily White. Designs, Amy From A Blossoming Life, Sara from Sneaky Spoons, and Katie from The Casual Craftlete.

My Favorite Link Ups From Last Week:

I was really impressed with Handmade in The Heartland’s link up.  Can you believe these gold dipped wine glasses were done with spray paint?

DIY Spray Painted Gold Wine Glasses

Like I said before–I’m not quite ready for Christmas yet.  Give me one more week and I’ll be in the full Christmas swing.  Given that, I was still really excited to see this Nativity Scene from Delineate Your Dwelling.  What a sweet way to remember what this season is all about!

I know what you mean, Kelly! I’ve really wanted to write posts with Christmas crafts but I’m just not ready for it yet. I guess I’ll just have to be okay with posting them after everyone else 🙂

Thanksgiving often gets “skipped over” it always makes me sad because it is my favorite holiday . Celebrating gratitude and featuring feasts of yummy food are some of my favorite things, giggle. Thank you for the hop.Hugs

Every time an advert says “It’s Christmas” my son shouts at the TV, no it’s NOT! We don’t have thankgiving here in the UK but I still think anything before this week is too soon for Christmas, although maybe the exception could be projects that take a while.
Some people living near us even have their deckies up already!

Your son’s reaction is hilarious! I’m sure my kids will be doing that too! Thanks for linking up!

Thanks for hosting! I am totally with you on the whole No Christmas before Thanksgiving thing. Actually for me it has always been No Christmas before my Birthday, which is 12/4. That gives us exactly three weeks each year for Christmas. 🙂 Hope you have a great week!

December 4th sounds like a great time to start celebrating Christmas! My son’s birthday is that same week so we’ll be doing something similar in our home! Thanks so much for being a loyal linker!!
