Frugal Crafty Home Blog Hop 67

March 16, 2014 by Carrie

Worst.Spring.Break.Ever.

That’s how my week was.

My daughter fell and cut her chin open that required 7 stitches in her chin.

Nothing like taking a selfie in the Emergency Room, right?

God is so good

Then the next day my family was involved in a pretty bad car accident.  Thankfully all four of us were safe.

Through all the trauma of this week I can wholeheartedly say that God is good and He protected us in so many ways.

Things could have been so much worse.

Some parents take their kids to the hospital for chemo treatments.  Or open heart surgery.  I took mine for stitches and went home the same day.

Some people don’t survive accidents.  All four of us were fine.  Bruises and scratches were about the worst thing that we suffered.

So let’s just say I’m hoping this next week is better than last!

On a happier note, did I mention I’m giving away a $150 gift card to Target?  This giveaway will run through Tuesday March 18th so make sure you enter!

Hi Carrie – Most people would boo-hoo about the week you had. Kudos for you for keeping everything in perspective during a very rough week for your family. God has blessed you and keep smiling in His blessings. Big hugs my friend, Holly

I know you’ve kept a good perspective through hard times too! I’m so glad so see good things come from hard times.

I really admire your “it could be worse” attitude here. What an awful week, I’m so glad you are all ok. It is always true though isn’t it that no matter how bad things get there are always people for whom life is worse (we only have to switch on our TV’s to see that) What’s that quote, “sometimes life is about learning to dance in the rain,” I’m paraphrasing here but it is a great quote.

    • Carrie says

      March 17, 2014 at 8:45 am

I really like that quote too. Don’t get me wrong…I’m still complaining about the situation but really thankful for how things turned out!

What a week you had, Carrie ! So glad you are all alright. Facial cuts always causes so much bleeding, you must have had the fright of your life – 7 stitches are quite a lot. Thanks for the party 🙂

    • Carrie says

      March 17, 2014 at 8:46 am

Yes you’re right–facial cuts bleed the most but heal really fast. I’m looking forward to a (hopefully) quiet week!

I am SO glad you are ok! My son fell on the playground and had to have 7 stitches under his chin. It is never fun, but aren’t they the bravest?

    • Carrie says

They are the bravest! My daughter was more brave than I was! Just thinking about it makes my stomach turn but thankful for God’s protection!
