Edible Sugar Cookie Dough For One

January 14, 2015 by Carrie

(This post contains an affiliate link to a mixer I highly recommend. See my full disclosure here.)

You can safely enjoy some sugar cookie dough without worries of eating raw eggs or feeling too guilty! Edible Sugar Cookie Dough will safely satisfy your sweet tooth!

I get tempted to eat cookie dough every time I bake cookies.  The worries of consuming raw eggs keep me from doing so.  And then there’s the calories to worry about.

I just want a small serving of cookie dough to satisfy that my tooth!  Is that too much to ask?

You can safely enjoy some sugar cookie dough without worries of eating raw eggs or feeling too guilty! This Edible Sugar Cookie Dough will safely satisfy your sweet tooth! This edible sugar cookie dough recipe is the perfect amount so you won't feel too guilty!

In hopes of answering that dilemma, I came up with the awesome Edible Cookie Dough for One recipe.  One of my readers asked me a great question about that recipe:

Can I use regular sugar to make sugar cookie dough mix?  My son likes sugar cookie dough and I’m just curious how this can be adapted for that.

After doing some fun and tasty experimenting, I developed the Sugar Cookie Dough For One recipe that satisfies a sweet tooth without feeling too guilty!

Quick disclaimer: This recipe calls for flour and some experts warn against eating raw flour.  Researchers say microwaving the raw flour for one minute and 15 seconds stirring at 15 second intervals may kill the harmful bacteria.  Eat at your own risk.  Carrie This Home is not responsible for any illness related to this recipe.

We doubled the recipe for 2. This made more than enough more like for 3 people. Made this for movie snacking and added sprinkles and spread over a cinnamon graham cracker or as a dip with apple slices. Yum. I also thought would be good to make cookie sandwiches putting this in the middle as the filling.

I added 3 tablespoons of peanut butter, substitued the vanilla for a drop of almond extract, and added around 1/8 cup of oats. It is so good! I tried the normal recipe and I really enjoyed it, too!

      March 27, 2017 at 10:13 am

I’m going to have to try this with oats next time! That’s a great idea!

I just tried this and it tasted delicous but I felt it was not firm enough and i wanted it like a real cookie dough texture so i put down some flour, and rolled the cookie dough in it till i formed a ball then i left it in the fridge fr about 25 minutes and then it was just like real cookie dough! Thats just how i like it but the recipe is amazing!

i think this recipe is great but my one critique is that it is so overpoweringly sweet! I can’t eat more than a quarter of the bowl before I have to put it away. any advice on how to fix this for myself?

    • Carrie says

      June 9, 2015 at 5:22 pm

I do have a pretty big sweet tooth so this may be over sweet for some. Sometimes I just eat a little bit at a time and save the rest for later. That might be a good solution for you πŸ™‚

I love how adaptable this recipe is! My cookie-dough-guilty-pleasure is for peanut butter cookies, so I replaced half the butter with a tablespoon and a half of peanut butter, and added a bit of extra flour to make up for the difference. Perfection!

    • Carrie says

      March 22, 2015 at 8:06 pm

I’m totally trying that next time! I LOVE anything with peanut butter. You’re a genius Andrea!!

I definitely did not just make this with peanut butter and peanut butter chips. no way, that would be a terrible thing for me to have done…

The trick is to make it when the kids aren’t around πŸ˜‰ Or if you share a little with them that will cut down on your calories. Either way it’s a win-win!

  34. Kim says

    January 14, 2015 at 9:23 pm

Oh my goodness, this looks amazing…and like it’s the perfect amount to feed the craving. Of course, I would have to triple the recipe for the kids…and maybe quadruple it to have a bit leftover for myself. Oh boy, this recipe could be very dangerous! πŸ˜‰

    • Carrie says

      January 14, 2015 at 9:29 pm

Sometimes I share a little with the kids since it cuts down on the calories! Or if I’m feeling selfish I hide it in the back of the fridge! So you can triple it, share it, or hide it. Tons of possibilities!
