I love to take tours of beautiful homes and see different home designs. {That may be one reason I’m addicted to Pinterest!} A fun day for me would be taking a tour of model homes. Seriously–I could spend all day touring model homes!
Why is that? One reason is because model homes are often designed and decorated by professionals and it shows! The ideas that professional designers create is so inspiring and exciting to see.
I always thought hiring a designer would be too expensive.
If you think you can’t afford to hire a professional designer to help with a remodel or room design, think again. Today I’m going to take you along on a tour of some beautiful homes and share a tip so you can get a designer look on a budget!
I’m loving the dark cabinetry paired with the rich blue accent wall. The look is elegant yet appropriate for everyday living.

How To Get A Designer Look On A Budget
How does it work?
- You like to see what the finished design will look like before starting the project
- You don’t mind doing some of the work yourself (since the design budget does not include labor costs)
- You have a design problem to solve (like creating more storage in a small space)
- You’re open to using new ideas to help save money
- You want help bringing your ideas together into a cohesive design
- If you like to be heavily involved in every step of a project
- If you’re on an extremely tight budget

Val @ Love My DIY Home says
I would have them design my master bedroom or my guest master. But I’m probably too much of a control freak to let someone else do it. DIY or go home…though it would be nice to get someone else’s take on room design just to be different!

Getting someone else’s input and ideas would be the best part for me! Sometimes I have so many ideas it’s hard to combine them into a cohesive look. Dezignable would certainly help with that process!
