Easy Crock Pot Turkey Breast

Thanksgiving is almost here!  One thing I’m thankful for is this crock pot turkey breast recipe that my friend Kristin shared with me a couple of years ago.  This is literally the easiest way to cook a turkey breast but it tastes like you spent all day on it!

I’m not Julia Child.  My kind of cooking consists of throwing a few ingredients into the crock pot, turning it on, and then enjoying the food that night for dinner.  Over the years my crock pot has become my best friend in the kitchen.  So naturally, this recipe fits in nicely with my kind of cooking!

Crock Pot Turkey Breast so simple and the results are wonderful–moist, flavorful turkey with a delicious sauce that pairs well with mashed potatoes.

By the way, this is the crock pot I use and I absolutely love it!  It cooks meals automatically with a built-in meat thermometer, it’s big enough for roasts, and has a spill-proof lid that clamps shut.  It makes cooking so simple and it’s worth every penny!

{A printable version of this recipe is available at the end of the post}

Ingredients:

1 turkey breast (bone in) about 6 pounds (or bigger if you have a big crock pot)
1 packet dry onion soup mix
3 TBSP butter
(no water is needed—you’ll be amazed at how much juice comes out as the turkey cooks)

Directions:

Coat the inside of crock pot with non-stick spray

Place turkey in crock pot breast up.  Since the meaty part of the turkey is so heavy it will sort of tip over to one side.  That’s okay!  It will probably end up looking like this:

Coat turkey breast all over with dry onion soup mix.

Cut butter into 3 sections and place on top of turkey.

Cook on low for about 6-7 hours (or when internal temperature reaches 175 degrees) and then enjoy!

Don’t forget the mashed potatoes!  My 15 Minute Prep Mashed Potatoes are the perfect companion to this turkey breast and they only take 15 minutes to prep!
