The first day of school picture session is a must-do tradition around our house. But this year it almost didn’t happen. In the hustle and bustle of our morning routine, I almost forgot to take the obligatory first day of school photo! Of course I didn’t have time to make a super cute sign for my kids to hold, so in case you’re in the same situation, I’m going to show you how to put text and graphics on pictures (with a video tutorial!)
If I were a super organized mom, I would have printed off some cute signs for the kids to hold in the pictures. But let’s face it–I’m not THAT mom. And that’s okay.

How to put text and graphics on pictures
You’ll need:
- a photo of your child
- a little creativity
- PicMonkey
I’ve included a short video to show you exactly how to put text and graphics on pictures. It’s much easier than you think!
This video will show you how to:
- add text, change the text position, color and rotation
- add cute graphics and clip art to your picture (move video to 10:28)
- add your own graphics to a picture (move video to 11:45)
All while using a FREE program. Isn’t that great?
