My Apologies

Doing the right thing can be hard.

In one of my last posts, I said I would share a fun tutorial showing you how to make a Frozen Inspired Birthday Party Invitation.

I’m sorry to say I can’t do that.

{I will be sharing a free printable so hang with me…}

I had the post all done and was really excited to share it with you.

As I was about to publish it, something made me stop.

I hesitated to click on the Publish button.  Why was I hesitating?

Then the thought hit me.  This invitation was inspired by a blog post I saw online.  I saw someone else make a Frozen Invitation that she was selling.  I got really inspired to make my own version with my own personality.

But there was a problem.  I was really proud of what I came up with and in the excitement of sharing a project I was proud of, I forgot to ask for permission to share it from the person that inspired it.  If I get inspired by someone else’s work and I want to share it on my blog, I try to ask the source of inspiration if it’s okay.

How would I feel if I had a business where I was selling personalized invitations and someone else wrote a tutorial on how to make it at a lower cost?

I don’t think I’d like that.

Since my project was inspired by another blogger, I only felt it right to ask her permission to share it with you.  I put everything on hold decided to wait and ask permission to share the invitation tutorial.

Out of respect for my fellow blogger, I will not be sharing the tutorial.  It’s not what I wanted to do but it’s the right thing to do.

Sometimes I’m amazed at God’s direction and wisdom.  He was the reason I hesitated to publish that post.  Maybe He knew that post would upset my fellow blogger.  Maybe He was trying to help me learn a lesson.  Maybe He was protecting me.

I’m thankful for the kind and gentle direction from my Heavenly Father.  It really is true that when I put my trust in Him, He will direct my paths.  When I ask Him for direction, He shows me what to do.

I promised you an invitation tutorial and couldn’t do that.  So I will leave you with a free printable of one of my favorite verses.

“Trust in the Lord and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3 5-6
