Valentine’s Day Activites for Pre-K Kids

Recently I was asked to organize some Valentine’s Day activities for my daughter’s Pre-K class.

I think the teachers asked me since I pin a lot of stuff on Pinterest.   Being addicted to Pinterest really isn’t a bad thing…I’ve gotten so many great ideas there!

Valentine’s Day Activities for Pre-K Kids

I wanted to provide a fun party for kids with lots of different activities to choose from but not have to spend too much money.  I also wanted to think of the boys–they aren’t as excited about having everything covered in in pink and red hearts.  I wanted to think of some specific gender neutral activities for them.

Here’s some great ideas I found:

This great idea came from Mom 2 Two Post Little Divas.  The kids will have a blast making some Tie Dye Hearts with coffee filters and bingo or Do-A-Dot Rainbow Markers.  You take a coffee filter, cut out a heart shape, fold it a couple times, and let the kids dot away with the colors.  After the whole filter is covered in ink, carefully unfold and let them dry.  Once dry they can be hung up in the window or given away as Valentines.  Aren’t they cute?

Busy Kids Happy Mom came up with this adorable I Love You Sign Language Card.  I love that this helps teach the little ones how to communicate with sign language.

One of my concerns for this party was to have enough fun activities for the boys.  The Kids Activites Blog came up with some awesome non-mushy Valentine coloring pages.  This is the perfect way to include the boys in all the fun!

Pre K is all about learning how to write in preparation for Kindergarten.  I thought this Love List Writing Prompt from Made for 1st Grade was the perfect activity to do at this party.

Since my daughter’s class is made up of children ranging from 3 to 5 years old, not all the kids are ready to write yet.  This activity will make sure they feel included in the fun.  Coffee Cups and Crayons came up with a great Broken Heart Letters Activity.  Several different games can be used with the same set of letters!

B-Inspired Mama had a great idea for getting little ones excited about science in this Fizzy Hearts Activity.  How much fun would the kids have watching a science experiment bubble right before their eyes!

I also think these coloring pages from Party Simplicity would be a great way for the kids to make a gift for Mommy and Daddy.
